A new mobile app developed by QUT aims to immerse users in the culture and history of the Turrbal and Yugara people in Brisbane via augmented reality and geolocation.
The ‘Walking on Country’ app is a self-guided walking tour, highlighting sites of significance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people on the university’s Gardens Point campus.
The app’s development was Guided by Traditional Owner Uncle Cheg, with input from First Nations staff, students and community members.
