Following the pandemic and the move towards greater off-campus courses and assessment there has been a significant spike in the number of students caught cheating at Australian universities.
In particular technological developments are leading to increased concerns about the integrity of the university assessment system with students increasingly drawn to contract cheeting sites and misusing generative AI programs.
Stephen Hill asked UTS education lecturer Mohan Dhall about how the university system is being threatened by students using technology to deceive assessors about their competence in their particular specialisation.
