Domestic violence charity struggling to meet rising service demand

Domestic violence remains a critical issue in Australia, with data showing one in four Australian women have experienced physical or sexual violence from an intimate partner.

Statistics also reveal almost 70% of victim survivors who leave their abuser, also leave behind property and assets.

Furnishing over 900 homes across Australia since 2015, the not-for-profit organisation Friends with Dignity has seen a 46% increase in demand for its services over the last two years.

The charity is holding a giving day this week (24th October 2024) calling for urgent public support to meet the growing needs of victim-survivors.
