Work continues on the Bendigo Bank sponsored Outside Broadcast Caravan
Back in March of this year 2SEA Eden Community Radio was donated a run-down 1968 fibreglass caravan to be renovated into a mobile outdoor Broadcast Studio.
Station presenter Hanns Eber took on the job of project manager to guide the restoration and fit out of the caravan.
And since then the project has forged ahead, even allowing for the restrictions and interruptions caused by the current pandemic, to a stage now that it is roadworthy and ready to be registered.
Station Vice President Graeme Wykes has been working with Hanns and they are hoping that it will be up and running by the beginning of summer this year.
We would not have been able bring this project to fruition if it was not for the invaluable support of some wonderful local businesses.
A huge vote of thanks go out to Brian Hammond and his great team at ARV Caravans in Eden for all the great work done on the chassis and electrics. This fabulous local business did a totally professional job way beyond what we had hoped for.
Brand new tyres have been supplied by Andrew and Kristie of Goodyear Autocare in Merimbula, and finally a big shout out to John Hanley and the team at the Pambula Men’s Shed who have agreed to assist with the conversion and fit out of the Van once they are able resume, as near as possible, normal duties.
Without their support we would not have been able to make as much progress as we have to date and we thank them all.
Once kitted out and sign written it will be used to support when possible any and all of the Markets, Events and Festivals that are held throughout the year in the Bega Valley Shire.
2SEA looks forward to working with all the community groups and organisations in our area, as well as Cruise Eden, to be able to add value to these wonderful community events.
As 2SEA is a volunteer community organisation that only exists because of the support of all our wonderful stations sponsors from Eden, Merimbula and Pambula we understand that so much of what happens in our Shire happens because we have so many great people who are willing to contribute to their communities.
If you would like to be involved with 2SEA FM, or are interested in becoming a station sponsor and advertise on our station you can give Graeme Wykes a call on 0429 951403.
We would love to hear from you.
