Emily Brontë who penned the dramatic gothic story of Cathy and Heathcliff has long been an intriguing character.
This quiet and reclusive Brontë was thought to be the least likely of the sisters to have written the passionate and darkly disturbing Wuthering Heights.
Yet indeed she did, and one could only speculate what went on in her imagination as the story bore little resemblance to the life she lead.
She is the subject of the movie “Emily” directed and written by Frances O’Connor
