Climate Change Fighting Fungi Could Transform Australian Agriculture

A simple bag of spores has given an Australian start-up the opportunity to revolutionise agriculture and mitigate climate change at the same time.

A group of New South Wales farmers developed the idea of turning carbon dioxide into plant-based carbon using spores which absorb and convert the CO2.

The fungi keep the sub-soil carbon underground for hundreds of years, unlike conventional plants which release the carbon back into the atmosphere when they die.
