Australia still not on track to reducing fossil fuel emissions: State of the Climate Report 2024

Today COP29 kicked off in Azerbaijan in a diplomatic effort to act on climate change.

Back home, the eighth biennial State of the Climate report has been released by CSIRO and the Australian Bureau of Meteorology.

The 2024 report has found Australia’s climate has already warmed by 1.51 degrees, with more extreme heat events over land and oceans, longer fire seasons, more intense heavy rainfall and sea level rise.
