The Construction arm of the CFMEU has gone under administration following Federal Government legislation passed with the agreement of the Liberals and Greens.
270 Union officers and 11 paid staff are dismissed as of today. Victorian barrister Mark Irving KC will replace the current management as administrator.
It may not be the end of the matter as it is understood the Union will challenge the legislation in the High Court.
