Obesity is a global issue affecting more than 2 billion people. Traditional methods like cutting down on calories and exercise has had limited success, there have been studies emphasising the need for new and practical interventions.
A popular approach is time-restricted fasting also known as “intermittent fasting”, which been proven to be effective in healthy weight loss.
Dr. Hilmi Rathomi, a family physician and PhD student at the School of Population and Global Health from the University of Western Australia, sheds light on why people are choosing to do daily fasting despite the lack of medical recognition.
