In January of this year Prime Minter Anthony Albanese visited Alice Springs in hopes of addressing the high crime rates of the Northern Territory.
Since then the Chief Minister of the Northern Territory Natasha Fyles has tried to attack alcohol fueled violence and crime. Her current plan is to try and buyback liquor licences from local corner bottle shops.
Fifty of these stores exist in the territory but the jury is still out if this policy will be widely adopted .
