The announcement from the NSW Government last weekend on pharmacists having the authority to give certain prescriptions for patients have left General Practitioners ropeable.
They believe accessing to care could not be easily addressed solely by this pilot program, rather, putting pressures on the already fragmented healthcare system.
Meanwhile, pharmacists argued that this brings greater transparency, trust and integrity services for patients, especially after years of constant waiting time and delays to get their treatment.
